How to Connect Your LinkedIn (Securely)

1 Why we connect this way

Hi there, before we get into the steps, here is the thinking behind how this works, so you can see exactly why it is safe.

• We run outreach from your own LinkedIn profile. Your outreach goes out as you, from your real profile, which is what makes it credible.
• You get your own private workspace. We use HeyReach's agency model, where each account gets its own separate workspace. Yours is locked to just you, and your access is permission-limited to your own workspace. You never see our account, our billing, or any other client, and no one else sees yours.
• You never share your LinkedIn password with us. The connection uses your own already-logged-in browser session through the official HeyReach Login extension, so your password stays with you.
• Your account gets a dedicated static residential proxy. HeyReach assigns your account a real IP address that never changes and is never shared with anyone else, and it simulates a real device. To LinkedIn, your account simply behaves like you logging in from one consistent place.

In short: your profile, your password, your workspace, your privacy. We only ever work the campaign conversations.

2 The step-by-step

There are four short steps. The whole thing takes just a few minutes.

Step 1: You get an invite to your private workspace.
We create a private workspace for you in HeyReach and send you an email invitation with a unique link. Just watch for that email from us.

Step 2: Accept the invite and set your own password.
Click the link in the invitation, accept it, and set your own password. You will land inside your personal client portal, locked to just your workspace. This password is yours alone. We do not have it.

Step 3: Connect your account via the HeyReach Login extension.
We recommend the extension method, because you never share your password. Work through it in this order:

• Install the official HeyReach Login browser extension (Chrome).
• Log into your own LinkedIn in a browser tab, as you normally would.
• Return to HeyReach, open the "LinkedIn Account" section, and click "Connect Account".
• Choose "Connect via our HeyReach Login".
• Verify the profile shown is correct (your photo and your name).
• Choose your inbox privacy option (see the next section, this is the important one).
• Click "Yes, Connect".

Because this uses your existing logged-in session, your LinkedIn password is never shared with us.

Step 4: Let it finish in the background.
HeyReach completes the login and sync in the background. This usually takes about 1 to 15 minutes. When it is done, your account status moves to "Available" and you are connected.

3 The privacy selection (please read this one)

During Step 3, you will be asked to choose how your inbox is handled. This is the most important choice, so here it is plainly. You will see two options:

• "Track and import all LinkedIn conversations": this imports the last 30 days plus all future messages.
• "Track only conversations started from HeyReach": this imports only the conversations that come from your campaigns.

Please choose "Track only conversations started from HeyReach".

That way, only your campaign conversations are ever visible and worked on. Your private, non-campaign DMs and the rest of your inbox stay completely private and are never imported. This is the setting we recommend for everyone.

4 Keeping your account safe

A few simple habits keep your account healthy while it is connected:

• Keep your profile active and complete. A professional headshot and a full profile help your account look established and trustworthy.
• Avoid logging into LinkedIn from wildly different locations while connected. Staying consistent keeps everything looking normal.
• Stick to sensible daily limits. HeyReach's defaults are set at safe levels, so there is nothing you need to change.

None of this requires effort on your part day to day. It is just good practice.

5 What we can and cannot see

• We cannot see your private inbox. With "Track only conversations started from HeyReach" selected, we only ever see the campaign conversations. Your personal DMs stay private.
• We cannot see anything of yours outside your workspace, and you cannot see ours. Your workspace is locked to you and your access is permission-limited to it, so nothing of ours or of any other client is visible to you, and yours is private to you.
• We do not have your password. With the extension method, the connection uses your own logged-in session, so we never hold your LinkedIn password.

6 If you ever see a security checkpoint

Occasionally LinkedIn may show a security checkpoint. This is routine and nothing to worry about.

• Do not stress about it.
• Just let us know at [email protected].
• We can calmly re-verify the account and get you back to "Available".

That is all it takes.
